About this pattern

Knit up cute fruits, perfect for summer crafting. These cuddly satsumas are just the right size for kids to play with and are fun and fast to knit.

Each satsuma uses only 20g of orange Dk yarn and only knit and purl stitches/simple increasing and decreasing to shape. Satsumas measure about 9cm/3.5 inches tall when finished.

You Will Need:

A pair of 3mm straight knitting needles Yarn: about 20g of orange Dk yarn for each satsuma. I used Rico Ricorumi DK in Terracotta (for the muted colour)- you can make one satsuma from this ball of yarn. I also used Drops Muskat Unicolour in Dark Orange (the brighter orange)- you should be able to make two satsumas from this ball. For the leaves I used a small amount of Stylecraft Special Dk in Meadow (1065) You can of course substitute any Dk yarns you prefer.

You’ll also need a length of black Dk yarn for the mouth, some toy stuffing, a darning needle and a pair of 6mm black toy safety eyes with click-on backs for each satsuma (or you can embroider the eyes, recommended if the toy is for a young child)- you can find suitable eyes on my website.
