About this pattern
The basic stockinette hat that I just can’t stop making. After making one of these hats for everyone in my family, I decided it was time to figure out the pattern for any size I’d need. Includes slouchy and fitted lengths. Enjoy knitting your Steady Stockinette Hat!
Sizes: Newborn, Baby, Toddler, Child, (Adult Small, Medium, Large) This hat is intended to have 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) of negative ease.
Circumference inches: 12, 15, 17, 18 (19, 20, 22) or 30.5, 38, 43, 46 (48, 50, 56) cm.
Yarn requirements: DK weight yarn, I used Hedgehog Fibers tweedy (100g = 250 yards)
88, 125, 175, 190, (237, 275, 325) yards
US size #3 (3.25 mm) circular needles, or needles needed to get gauge. Hat can be knit in magic loop or DPNs
Gauge: 21 sts x 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette.
Notions: 5 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors.
Pattern offers 3 instructions for creating the brim and fitted and slouchy lengths.
