The ripple pattern is intuitive and created with only knits and purls, simple increase/decrease stitches shape the narrow ends and I-cord edges frame the scarf for extra elegance.
Two length options are provided, or you can customize the length.
Between cast on and bind off, you can choose the pattern form you like, either following written instructions or charts.
Yarn Cardiff Cashmere Classic Concept by Katia Silky Lace Any suitable yarn you have. Note that if your gauge differs from the pattern, so will the yarn quantities and scarf measurements.
Yarn amount Short version (1 wrap around neck, hair scarf): 15g Long version (2 wraps around neck): 27g
Knitting Needle 4.5 mm / US 7
Gauge 24 sts x 32 rows in ripple pattern (blocked)
Other materials 4.5 mm / US 7 circular/double pointed knitting needle (only for the first step of the cast on) Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)
Finished scarf measurements Short: 75 cm / 30 inch Long: 120 cm / 47 inch Note that the length is customizable by knitting the main part longer or shorter.
The blue scarf is the long version in Cardiff Cashmere Classic, color 588.
The red scarf is the short version in Concept by Katia Silky Lace, color 176.
