About this pattern
The Felted Star Coaster is a free knit pattern where you can use your leftover bulky wool yarn scraps to create a quick and cute felted coaster or hanging decor item. This takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to knit up.
For the felting to shrink the felted coaster, this requires feltable wool yarn (i.e. non-superwash wool yarn).

Construction
You first work in the round using magic loop or double-pointed needles, increasing each round. After that, you will have 5 segments where you work back and forth to create each of the 5-points of the stars.

Materials
✧ 14 m (~14g), 18m (~18g), of bulky-weight non-superwash yarn (e.g. Drops Snow)
✧ 8mm circular needles (60cm cable or larger for magic loop) or 8mm set of DPNs
✧ 5 stitch markers, with one different colour for BOR

7 stitches in 5cm (14 st gauge) Note gauge doesn’t matter too much here!

Note
Use up your non-superwash yarn scraps to make these felted star coasters.
If you have smaller amounts of scraps, feel free to use multiple colours, you may need more yarn as there will be more ends required to change colours.
If you have less yarn, use smaller needle size like 6.5mm circulars.
You can use the below for some approximations using Drops Snow:
Using a 6.5mm needles to make the following: Size S, using up ~12g of yarn Size M, using up ~18g of yarn
